Fantastic Event, Great afternoon - to use the words of our visitors - best describes the Grand Opening & Party held on Saturday May 14th, 2005 1-4 PM.

We had it all: Great attendance, great music, lots of fun (and food!) - happy faces, smiley kids, passionate musicians, passionate and appreciative audience...laughs and...even a few tears (happy ones!).

The Grand Opening reminded us how fortunate we are to have known you all: Boris' childhood-time instructor, now our teacher .. our original students that now work with us; our instructors, musicians-friends, numerous customers, students and their families, many of you with us for years... This event pictures what music is all about: friendship, fun, communication, sharing, understanding, appreciation.

To our fantastic performers -simply BRAVO! In those fine people -we know that we have resources that are hard to match !

This event with its widening circle of associated music professionals - has proven, one more time, that we at FORTE Academy are serious about offering to this great community, and further, not just a great music program but our passion about music, its universality, beauty and phenomenal value that adds to the quality of life of all of us. We must always remember - music is also about creativity, success, better grades - that translates into personal growth, academic and professional achievement. Most importantly with all the musical and non musical benefits of the study of music in a supportive, fun and positive environment - music is a powerful tool for a better, healthier, balanced and more Successful life.

Recital: About our recent events...
  A Note on FORTE Recital - June 04, 2005 @ The LAC

Dear FORTE Students, Parents and Friends,

The 23rd FORTE Recital Series held on June 4th at the Living Arts Centre - Rogers Theatre successfully concluded: Thank You all for kind words and great feedback -we know that everyone enjoyed the Saturday afternoon's performances and we look forward to more:

Please mark your calendars: To help you plan early here are the dates of the upcoming events:

  • Tuesday September 06, FIRST day of study - school year 2005/2006
  • Saturday October 15th @ 5 PM: FORTE Concert at the Living Arts Centre
  • November 2005 - SECOND LOCATION GRAND OPENING-Phase 2
  • Saturday December 04, 2005 - FORTE Student Recitals - Winter session

The Saturday's Recital showcased the great program:

A variety of classical, and contemporary pieces were performed by piano students, the growing guitar class was a great addition to the program as well as the great vocal performances - all turned this Recital into another memorable event.

The following images may illustrate the event.

Special Thank You to

  • Irina Semenova Thain, our own star, Teacher of The year, for the great presentation of the demanding  Musical Moment by Rachmanninov
  • Natalia Waymarnew FORTE instructor, for providing on short notice fine accompaniment to our vocal students. WELCOME aboard, Natalia!
  • Frank Yerka, Academy friend - guest-pianist and instructor from Prague, Czech Republic for a wonderful Ragtime presentation!
  • Thomas Nagy, FORTE Academy's guitar instructor for fine pre-show presentation that we all enjoyed
  • Our teachers: Vesna, Majda, Gabie, Irina D., Nadja and Gloria for the great work and dedication.

One more Very Special Thank You goes to my very special student, Benjamin for yet another visit and double-performance; Despite all the challenges of growing up, heavy school-load (and plenty of other excuses), Benjamin stayed with piano, and is developing into a well-rounded musician and person!

One more example of the student that excels in piano and everything else!

We are proud of our students, the level of confidence and level of skill that surely increases: It is about the music...and more...we know that musical training (and live performance opportunity as an important part of that training) is a comprehensive educational and intellectual, conceptual activity that develops numerous skills for life.

Last but not least: I personally wish to Thank ALL PARENTS for supporting the FORTE Academy of Music and music education in this community. We are absolutely convinced that the investment in music education will pay-off handsomely in time to come! With ongoing, quality music education - everyone wins!

A Note on last Student Recital:

Dear Forte Students, Parents, Teachers and Friends,

Following the FORTE RECITALS held on Saturday, May 29th, 2004 at the Living Arts Centre, Rogers Theatre we wish to congratulate all participants for the effort, courage and great music-making we all tremendously enjoyed!

Special thanks to our teachers Maida, Irina D., Herman, Irina S., Vesna, Thomas, Anne, Gabie, Adrienne and Boris K. for the dedication, great effort and absolutely fantastic coaching !

The following images may illustrate in part the Event's performances and the atmosphere:

The Rogers Theatre could barely accommodate all of us...

Keolani sings accompanied by her teacher, Irina

Aleksandra  accompanied by her teacher Anne

Stefano and Thomas...

Emily played on a guitar and sung...

Tenna accompanied by her dad...

The Youngest performer, Michaela  (4)

Sean and Thomas

Lisa...

...and all the other participants made this Recital become another memorable, fine educational, family, entertaining, fun, FORTE event! The supportive, great feedback we received after this event is a true inspiration to all of us -  THANK YOU!

We are convinced that the preparation, perseverance, concentration, confidence...and more...  our students invest in public performances are truly skills for - life, and we 'll continue with public performance opportunities that are an important part of our FORTE Program.

Please note that the next Forte event - the Special Presentation "Romantic Masters of Piano" is scheduled for Sunday, October 24th, 2004 - 4 pm, and the Traditional Forte Academy of Music's WINTER RECITAL is scheduled for Saturday, December 4th, 2004 - both at the same venue, the Living Arts Centre, Rogers Theatre.

The growth, however, asks for some slight changes: Due to the ever-growing number of students that study at Forte Academy of Music, and in order to avoid the very lengthy recitals,  we decided to limit the number of students performing to 30 per recital and will ask students to play only one piece each. The details on the upcoming events will be sent promptly.

Special Thank You goes to our FORTE parents and families: With Your much appreciated support, we are looking forward to another year of great music, events, positive, a motivating learning environment, fun and growth!

We wish you great - SAFE and FUN summer (if it, finally, comes!) !

About a recent Event...

We are delighted to report that the response to, the attendance and the feedback regarding the FORTE Event – Master Class and Special Presentation held on Sunday, April 18th at the LAC, Mississauga - are just terrific! We extend our sincere THANKS to all that shared this super Sunday afternoon with us. Your support is appreciated more then we can say!

Fabulous performance…”; “ This event brightened my day…” ; “What a great idea – Fine music supported by interesting notes on the Composer…”; “We drove from Georgetown…and will come again: This is amazing what you guys do…”; “The choice of music was great , and the pianist is simply amazing…”; “Am I ever glad that I’ve read the (Mississauga) News – this performance is beyond expectations…”; “The passion about what you people do is…infectious…” ; “I couldn’t talk, the music, the messages, the atmosphere made me cry…; “We are proud to be here and enjoy this marvelous event…”; “Thank you for offering us this fine opportunity …” “Standing ovations…This is what you FORTE people deserve!…” “This, indeed, was the original, fine, educational, community and family event! Congratulations…” etc., etc, are just some of the comments we received following our Master Class and Special Presentation held on Sunday, April 18th, 2004 at the Mississauga Living Arts Centre – Rogers Theatre.

We had a wonderfully diverse audience with every age group present – literally from 8 months old to seniors! It was fun to watch kids – big and small listen to this wonderful music and watch the performer …with mouth, eyes…wide open…What a reward to us that organized this event!

We wish to extend our gratitude to all for generous donations for the pianist!

First and foremost our gratitude goes to wonderfully capable, true master-pianist and fine person – Irina Semenova Thain that demonstrated tremendous skill, energy and ability to communicate the demanding works of Romantic Master Franz Liszt…Irina, we admire you, we thank you and we love you! You are …outstanding!

The event started by the spirited performance of  the National anthem – as our (new Canadians) salute to this great country which is now our home.

Our special thanks to Clarkson Piano Centre's  fine piano-technician, Boris Kvint who made a special trip and adjusted the piano to sound its very best in a very limited time-frame! Boris, on so many occasions you accommodated (with a smile) so many special requests… all your efforts are deeply appreciated!

Many thanks to Jean-Paul Schilling, and our teachers: Maida Balonek Karahalilovic (piano); Thomas Nagy (guitar) and Adrienne Bitner (piano) for all the assistance behind-the-scene: Your support, loyalty, fine work and commitment are inspiration and great reward !
We thank our dear friends Doug & Joan Kerr; John, Helen and Sarah Smith; Irma and Kaia Bakowski; Families Wentzel, Kljenak, Gerstle-Brunn; Cameron-Lewis and Wolff-Klambauer: Your support and friendship mean the world to us!

Last, but not least, on behalf of all of us we extend our sincere thanks to the Mississauga News for their generous coverage of the event as well to Mr. Pieter Kool of the Rotary Club Mississauga West and Mr. John Barnum, Mississauga Symphony Orchestra Director, – for all the support, assistance and encouragement.

The evident success of our FORTE events inspires us to continue to explore the innovative and creative approaches that enhance the music-learning process and we will do all we possibly can to promote the benefits, positive values and goals of our quality, FORTE, music teaching program.

We are dedicated to SUCCESS in MUSIC and in LIFE. Don’t forget: With us, Learning Music Sounds Great!
